If you live in Southern Oregon or have passed through the past summer, you probably noticed that something harming a lot of the trees. I’m not sure entirely what it is, but from what I’ve gathered, I think it’s some sort of insect that builds a web around the branches and cut off the sunlight, thus suffocating the tree. Maybe not, I’m not sure. Anyone know?
*UPDATE* Apparently an old friend, Anna, knew and she pointed me toward an article on Wikipedia about the Fall webworm. Apparently it is not supposed to be harmful to trees that are otherwise healthy. For more information, click here. Thanks for the info, Anna!!
At any rate, it’s sad see. The hillsides are quite literally filled with trees wrapped in webs. If only they’d attack the poison oak!?!?!?!
