Rode my bike down to the ferry terminal in Seattle, caught the 8:10 right on time, and had a nice ride across to Bainbridge. The ride in to Island Wood was dark (it’s in the woods. . . on an island. . . hence the name) and I took a wrong turn once or twice. Roads were getting a bit frosty and at one point I had to wrastle my bike back into control. Parked my bike, locked it, then HIKED in along a little trail!! When I say hike, I mean walk, but come on. . . walking IN to the lodge!! Super cool. The buildings are nice, lots of wood everywhere (again. . . that name. . .) and they’re all about the SUSTAINABLE design. That’s such a hot word right now. My suite has 5 beds. . . 2 bunks and a double. Anyone want to come stay here? Lol. Fun fun fun. Stoked on my new home for the next 10 days.
